What is the effect of adding multiple search objects on the conditional POS of SAROPS?

Increases POS

Decreases POS

POS becomes unstable

No effect on POS

The main idea is that the conditional POS for a specific object depends on the coverage and the object's own detection characteristics, not on how many other objects are in the plan. If you add multiple search objects but keep the search effort and coverage allocated to each existing object the same, the probability of finding that particular object doesn’t change. In other words, the per-object conditional POS remains unchanged because it’s conditioned on the plan for that object, not on the total number of objects. You would only see a change in per-object POS if you actually reallocate resources or coverage to or away from that object. The overall chance of finding something in the entire search area can improve with more objects, but the conditional POS for any single object stays the same under a fixed allocation.
